9/11 – 3 YEARS

Time swirling around
My mind
An ocean
Consuming water
Shedding tears
Salt remaining

Time swirling around
My soul
My essence
Coming undone

I struggle to comprehend
God’s plan for each of us
I struggle to believe
All will be better in the end

Are the lives sacrificed
Still here
Watching?
Crying?
Are we better, more secure

I want to scream
I want to cry
I have no idea why
Please wake me from this dream

As 3 years pass
From the morning
Skyline changed
Fire streaking from eye to heart
