Poem – Evening Light

Rust faded chair
surrounded by blue flakes
still rocks with ease.

Facing west I sit just
before sunset – time
to relax, find the right
position, let the coffee
cool and eyes adjust
to waning light.

Hood up the evening
wind cold from across
the frozen pond
burning with purple and orange.
