Chapter 4 of “The Proven Life”
Standing tall among the masses
He sees wind blown through his people
As spirits arise within them
Awakening their gods
Peer deep into your soul
Open your mind
Feed your desire
Breath and live each day
Born into light and energy
Swaddled with earth’s black soil
Herding sheep
Overseer of peasants
Look me in the eye
How deep can you see?
A soul hungry
A soul devouring
Can you believe me?
Can you follow me?
A soul reaching for Heaven
A lost soul searching for home

I like how the questions are not answered directly. It makes the reader look into him/herself for these answers.
Exactly, as that is what poetry should do. The writers job is to create a container, an empty landscape if you will, and allow the reader to fill that space and take away what works for them, what they see in there. Life is about questions, and everything should be questioned.
The forming of the questions, the first steps toward the center.
