Holiday Inn

Happy New Year everyone!  As is our tradition, we went to a local theatre (Heights Theatre) and viewed Holiday Inn.  Staring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, it is a classic black and white film with humor, dancing, singing, and entertainment about the holidays.  What is most surprising for me, is that I actually enjoy and look forward to seeing this.  I am more of an acrtion/adventure, or drama person, and of course prefer them in color.  But this film is absolutely amazing.  The sets are beautifully designed (real sets in hollywood), acting that is fluid and not forced, and great chemistry between the leads.  And best of all it is shown on film.

  1. I haven’t been to the Heights Theater in ages. I noticed The Hobbit was showing there before Christmas and thought about seeing it there, but the rest of my group wanted to see it on IMAX. I didn’t realize they did showings of the oldies there, that is so cool! Happy new year!

    • Happy New Year to you Jewels. They play some great new and old films there. And the popcorn is good! It really is a throwback experience to go there since they have completed so many renovations. The seats are comfortable enough for the 3-hour Hobbit! Did you see it on IMAX? What did you think?

      • I did see it on IMAX, and I thought it was great. The Hobbit is such a wonderful adventure story and I thought the movie was very well done. I’m a huge Tolkien fan and I have enjoyed all of the LOTR movies. Have you seen it? I’ll have to make it a point to catch a movie at the Heights the next time I notice something showing there that I’d like to see, it would be fun to check it out after all this time, especially if the popcorn is good, everyone knows…a big part of the movie-going experience is all about the popcorn. 😉
