Poem – The Ancients

Scattered across the window
Overlooking the rocky outline
Of the lake shore.

Cast from the memories of thousand years
Together we embrace as the fire
Fills the black sky with our own universe
And the reflection of the time we have endured
And the souls we have emerged as on the other side.

Standing side by side with flow stretching across endless stars and planets
we emerge each awakening flanked by the white and black wolf.

Together we will enter Valhalla and live among the giants
who have guided and taught us ways of the ancients.

Poem – Perhaps the Ravens Were the Dream

Awakened by raven screams
from the top of trees above
the rocky shoreline,
I briefly let go of the
dream I was lost within.

I wait. Hoping for its’ return.

Perhaps the ravens were the dream.

When the integration process started
there were no words exchanged,
no way to communicate until
we discovered the universal
language of dreams and music.

Perhaps the ravens were the dream.

Poem – Awoke

I awoke in the spring
steeped in memories and
lost dreams, standing on the
shore of an unnamed lake
steeped in golden light.

That path I have never left
empties into the fields
of infinite possibilities and choices
and when I am present I see you both hand in hand.

Poem – One Mind

We inhabit this space for reasons we still chase
through light and dark
through heaven and hell
through ancient texts and drawings.

The human spirit longs for place,
a concrete connection to surroundings,
a palpable definition of home.
How can we look out there when we do not how we got here?

To measure today against the backdrop
of the past and the future loses
our own meaning and purpose in
the ocean lapping the white sands.

I walked that path on the boundary
shadowed in golden light from the sun
that never set and felt streams of
silent noise and vibrations.

Scattered forever I lost myself
into the water to become one
mind floating in the sea
of dark matter and strings.

In the end we are here
to be caretakers of the
very things we are part of
the very soil we came from.

Poem – A Natural State

Guided by instincts pushed aside
by life’s demands to survive each day

we quickly find our place steeped in
wood, water, sand, and the sun.

As the morning rises from the
sea’s depths we close our eyes

and feel each ray of light
and the warmth of our creator.

Poem – Boundaries and Borders That We Find That We Cross

Standing at the shoreline
I awake when the sun peaks
over the horizon and the waves
crawl across frozen rock and cover my feet.

I do not know how long I have been here
at this border between the land and the sea.
I have vague recollections of why I am here.

You see, years have passed and the person I am
today does not really resemble the man troubled
and lost, weak and scared.

Holding and embracing the experiences I peer
at each fragment, taste the memory and vow
to move on, to be better than I was, beyond myself
into the space and fields and sky that I exist within
and part of.

So I stand at this border dividing the land and sea.

Who will I become next?

By what standard do I hold my being to and if
I falter will I still cross the border?

I sit on the golden tinged earth
as questions I thought become
answers that I see when in the
distance a figure follows the only
path, the exact border between
the land and the sea and when
he is close his hand
placed upon my head and when
I look up, grandfather.

Poem – A Plea

In the sea my reflection is
carried away by smoke and mist.

I stood there with what was left.

Broken, motionless
stripped of my armor,
I pleaded to whatever gods
lived here in the golden
light and calm sea –
What more must I give?

I have given blood.
I have given sanity.

My mind now wanders across
scattered horizons before sunrise
and follows dry riverbeds
until they disappear.

I wait here for your answer
as I have nowhere to go.

Poem – Finding Home in the Chaos – Part 4

These simple moments of nature’s gentle cycle
coupled with the raw energy exhibited here and beyond

humble this man juggling chaos
looking for simplicity

looking for answers to
questions I have not asked.
